Sunny Sunday

This past Sunday was beautiful. The weather was just right, and I was able to don one of my favorite spring dresses. I purchased it at the Loft outlet last spring, and I have gotten a great deal of use out of it. It's the perfect length for school, church, and even weddings. I paired it with some gold accessories and headed out the door for church.

Five on Friday

Friday has arrived and I for one am happy happy happy! Time for Five on Friday, so let's get rollin'!

One
Starbucks: I was tagged or sent at least four different Starbucks memes this week. It's safe to say I'm addicted, and everyone knows it. And because I'm such a loyal customer, I currently have two free drinks waiting for me on my gold card.

Skreened T-shirts

Two
Lydia Cutout Loafers: I have my eye on these beauties. They would look great with practically everything I own, and look like they'd be awfully comfortable for my rotations.

Three
St Moriz Self Tanner (medium): I finally tried this amazing mousse tanner. No need to bake in those harmful UV rays anymore! It is infinitely better than the Neutrogena gradual tanner I've been using.

Four
As I said in this post earlier this week, I'm on the hunt for new hair inspiration. I've really been thinking of getting the body wave, but until I decide I'm envying these two gorgeous ladies' hair. Obviously women named Kate have fabulous hair, maybe I should change a few letters in my name…

Five
I think this is such a perfect reminder. I think we all get caught up in work or school and need to take a second to remember why we do what we do.

Product Review: St. Morzi Instant Self Tanning Mousse

Love Always Nancy J

Today I'm linking up with Nancy, for The Glam Series: self tanner. Somewhere on Pinterest I came across a list of great self tanners. Being in PA school and hoping to end up in Dermatology or Plastics I feel as though I should be more of a sunscreen advocate. In hopes of trying to find a safe alternative, I purchased the St. Moriz tanner on Amazon as it is a UK brand.

The St Moriz is foam application, which I was a little wary of at first. First I exfoliated with a dry brush, then I applied my regular lotion taking extra care to hit my dry areas {knees, ankles, elbows}. After I applied the lotion, I waited about ten minutes or so before applying the St Moriz foam. My first impression was "good thing I didn't waste too much money." I thought for sure that I would have some major streaks even after blending everything I could because the foam tends to dry quickly leaving anything unblended blatantly obvious. The upside was that I could tell it was not an orange undertone, it was pure bronze and that gave me hope. After allowing it all to dry fully, I jumped in my jammies and headed to bed hoping I wouldn't look like a zebra in the morning.

The next morning I hopped out of bed ready to rinse off and see what had become of it all. I was very pleasantly surprised to find absolutely no streaks, anywhere! Even my back, which we all know can be very difficult reaching and blending everything. I am absolutely sold on it now despite the foam bit. Maybe one day they'll make an aerosol version and it would be perfection, until then I'm happy to use what I have. Overall I will definitely be using this tanner in the future, it gave a nice warm glow to my very pale legs without looking too fake.

What do you think? Will you be trying this out, if not what are your favorite self tanners?

Should I ride the body wave?

I've been getting a little bored with my hair lately. For roughly 10 years I was blonde. Like really blonde.

Then one day I had my dear stylist dye to my "natural color" and haven't looked back since.

I feel as though I'm either curling my hair, or putting it up. I rarely ever wear it down and straight because I have ZERO body. It's just stick straight and very fine, but there's a lot of it. I'm over it. I've been pondering the idea of a body wave for some time, but haven't been able to find a really good resource of before and after pictures. These are all I could find, and they don't link to the actual source.

Mixing Fabrics

If you know anything about me you probably already know I love the color navy. It takes up a huge proportion of my closet, but I think that's ok because it's a great color for anyone. One thing I haven't yet embraced is mixing prints, I'm still on the fence on whether I want to try or not. I do however love mixing fabrics, I guess I'm just more of a texture person. My favorite is wool + silk. Here is how I styled my silk blouse with wool pants for a chilly day last week.

Pants | Loft , similar, similar
Flats | J.Crew old but currently coveting these

I'll fix you in a stitch

My suture class on Friday went so well, I wanted to share some pictures! Getting to actually suture and learn stitches has certainly made me aware that I am right where I need to be. I think we may have had way more fun than we should have!

My lab partner working hard.

Then it was my turn.

My finished work

Now on to real patients! Only 34 more days until we start our first rotation! Pray that they actually find a place to put me, as of right now my first one is up in the air. Happy Monday.

Date night to the Max

What better way to start my birthday month than with beautiful weather? Since it has been so nice, I broke out one of my favorite Maxis for last night's date night. I don't think they get enough attention throughout the winter, but pair it with a cardigan or blazer or scarf and voila!

This dress is from Tart but they no longer have this dress, but here are some similar maxis I'd love to add to my closet.
