Five on Friday

One
Self doubt | I think we all have times where we lack confidence. It often comes from something someone said or did. To those of us who sometimes feel this way, print this out and tape it to your mirror.
Be a tiger

Two
Boho Thing Sandals | Run over right this second and get yourself a pair of these. They're just recently restocked at Lulu's!

Three
This dress | I haven't been able to pin down the original source, but isn't it just stunning?!

Four
Mermaids | I've always been fascinated by mermaids. My sister and I never quite understood why Ariel wanted to be a human.

Product Review Bobbi Brown

I took the plunge after several months of pondering over Bobbi Brown's liquid foundation. I've been using it for several weeks now and am happy to share that I am absolute love. I had previously been using Make Up For Ever HD liquid foundation. I wasn't necessarily unhappy with it, I just wanted to branch out and see if there was something else.

Bobbi Brown Long-Wear Even Finish | I love the feel of both of these products, but for summer I will benefit more from Bobbi Brown with its added SPF. I guessed pretty well with the color options, which are almost infinite, and chose warm beige. The color is perfect for this time of year, but even if it wasn't I'm positive I could have found one that was. I'm also happy that this product delivers exactly what I was looking for; medium to full coverage hydration with a light feel to it. I often forget that I'm wearing it! It also held up well in the heat we've been getting around here lately. If you're looking for an amazing liquid foundation with a little SPF (15 to be exact) this one is definitely worth a try.

Bobbi Brown CC creme | Sadly I didn't fall in love with this one. It's the fourth CC/BB cream I've tried, and I'm beginning to think that they just aren't for me. This one is available in only 3 colors, and I didn't feel as though any were perfect for my skin. I liked that it had SPF, but I felt that it made me a little more yellow than I prefer. It was certainly hydrating, but it never made me feel like my skin was oily either. I'm not sure if the hunt will continue or if I'll concede to defeat in this department.

Overall, I was very happy with Bobbi Brown. I will most certainly be trying more of their products in the future. Any ideas on which ones to buy next?

Love Always Nancy J

Packing for Adventure | Snorkel Ready

St. John is well known for it's fantastic snorkel friendly waters. They are some of the best in the Caribbean. The beaches on the island are teeming with sea life, and I plan to explore every last inch! I've put together a few things necessary for a day on the beach and in the water.

Wear to Work

It's no secret that I love a versatile dress. I was browsing through my closet the other day an "re-found" this gem. It's the perfect length for work or clinicals yet it's also stylish enough to be worn out afterwards. All you need is a quick change of shoes!

These loafers are also perfect for rotations where we have to wear close toed shoes. I've been searching near and far for a tan loafer, but these are the closest I've found. They'll keep me happy as I search for more.

Flip Flops | Italian Shoemakers (TJMaxx)

Weekend Recap + Blog Baton

First off, I'm so excited to be holding the Blog Baton today! For those of you just stopping by, this was a peek at my weekend.

Saturday was spent on the water with plenty of food of course. We decided to head out despite the grey skies and were happily rewarded later on with some sun!

Boat day necessities: sunnies and sunscreen. This sunscreen from Coppertone is my
newest favorite! It smells wonderful and is 50 SPF
You can't have a boat day without some delicious fried chicken.

Sunday I donned my favorite beaded dress as we headed to church, then celebrated Cuatro de Mayo at our favorite Mexican restaurant. We filled our bellies with cheese dip, flour tortillas, and my personal creation: grilled chicken taco with grilled onions and bell peppers.

With our bellies full, we headed back out on the river again with our favorite married couple. We putted around for hours enjoying the gorgeous weather. The pups got a little bored just sitting on the boat, so they decided to try and retrieve some crab pot bouys.

Hours later, tired hungry and a sunburnt, we headed back to the house. After taking a quick shower, we joined our sweet friends at their home as they cooked us a fantastic meal. I can't wait to share one of her amazing recipes for guacamole dip later this week!

Five on Friday + Giveaway

One
Publik | I posted a few favorites from this shop earlier this week. I'm very pleased to say I placed my order Sunday evening and received my package on Wednesday. That's pretty great timing if you ask me. Here's a peak at what came in.

Two
Soleil Blue | This website has so many great items, I could literally spend the entire day browsing through their departments. I've been on a big romper kick lately, and this one is the epitome of perfection. Seriously.

Three
These homes | I've been house hunting in my imagination, and these pictures are the closest thing to what I can imagine wanting in a home. They all possess a certain charm about them, and of course the landscaping is impeccable.
Baltimore Maryland
Sherwood Mansion Baltimore Maryland
Toronto
Four
The Selection | My younger sister lent me the first two books of the Selection series, and I'm almost embarrassed to admit I read them both in two days. I couldn't get enough. The final book in the series is released next Tuesday. I confess, I preordered it and made sure that it will arrive on that day. The reviews on the back of the book compare the series to "Hunger Games without the blood" mixed with "The Bachelor without the blood." I can proudly admit I have never enjoyed The Bachelor, but this book is good.

Five
Giveaway | I'm so happy to be co-hosting a giveaway with these lovely ladies! We've got a few gifts I know'll you'll just adore!

Adventure Ahead

Now that our house and flight is booked, I'm so excited to share that we're heading to the U.S. Virgin Islands in a few weeks! My sister, her husband, Jared and I are spending a whole week on the gorgeous island of St. John. I'm so thrilled I've already started mentally packing. One of the things I am most excited about is the snorkeling spots around the island. These are some shots my sister took when they visited the island two years ago.

I can't even begin to imagine the fun and adventure we are going to have! Less than 50 days to go!
